Pedal Info

It's often hard for established music gear manufacturers to break into new areas. No one would likely be interested in a Mesa/Boogie drumset or an acoustic guitar made by Marshall. So when Fender released a new series of effects pedals not long ago, people were rightly skeptical. Fortunately, that skepticism was rightly misplaced. Fender has introduced a line of effects pedals that sound as good as they are beautiful (yes, beautiful pedals). While most of the pedals favor skinny string players, the Downtown Express Multi-Effects unit favors the low end with essential effects including compression, overdrive, and EQ.

User Reviews

User experiences are overwhelmingly positive. Players are impressed by both the aesthetics and, of course, more importantly by the robust sounds offered by the Downtown Express. The pedals offers incredibly useful sounds and has excellent control range for a multi-effects pedal. It's celebrated as an excellent "bang for the buck" pedal and could easily function as a DI rig or complement a larger pedalboard system. Most players think each individual effect could easily be a respected single effect on their own merits, which is quite a compliment for a multi-effects pedal.
