Digitech XBC Bass Multi Chorus

Pedal Info

Compared to their guitar-playing brethren, bassists generally don't use a large number of effects. However, any working musician will tell you that it's good to have options. While Digitech has a well-earned reputation for its guitar-oriented effects, they're also committed to providing options for those holding down the low end. In addition to their dedicated single bass effects pedals, Digitech offers multi-effects options for bassists, including the BP355.

The Digitech BP355 offers a wide range of amps (21), cabs (14), and effects (66). The amps include standard bass amp models, including Ampeg, Ashdown, Fender, Mesa Boogie, SWR, Sunn, and Trace Eliot. Cab models include 2x12", 2x15", 4x10", 4x12", and 8X10" units modeled from numerous manufacturers. Effects types include wah, compression, noise gate, distortion/overdrive, chorus, phaser, flanger, pitch, vibrato/rotary, tremolo, envelope, eq, delay, reverb, and volume.

The BP355 also sports a built-in expression pedal and tuner. It includes both 1/4" and XLR outputs as well as 1/8" jacks for headphones and auxiliary inputs. For practice, the unit includes 60 CD-quality drum patterns as well as a 20 second looper. A USB port is standard and allows you to input audio into your computer as well as edit presets. 70 factory presets are standard as are 70 user presets. A power supply is included.

User Reviews

User reviews of the BP355 are positive overall. The most common positive comment is that users get great "bang for the buck" with this unit, since its street price is around $200. Overall, users are very pleased with the wide number of amps, cabs, and effects offered, with several users noting that they have used this unit to replace their heavier and more costly full bass rig.

Complaints are sparse. Some users find the tuner difficult to read. Other users would like a manual or user guide that is easier to navigate. A few users find the pedal difficult to program. Regardless, the positive reviews far outweigh the negative.
